What Is the Online Islamic Studies Course?
Reading the Quran fluently is the beginning of a Muslim child's education, not the whole of it. Our Islamic Studies course builds the understanding that sits underneath the recitation — what Muslims believe and why (Aqeedah), how to worship correctly in daily life (Fiqh), the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Seerah), and the everyday manners and character Islam asks of us (Adab).
Every student works one-to-one with a tutor, at a pace built around their age and their week — school, work, exams and Ramadan timings included. Whether your family wants a beginner-friendly introduction for a child, or a deeper look at Fiqh and Aqeedah for an adult returning to their deen or new to Islam, the course is shaped around the student in front of the tutor, not a fixed classroom pace.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Explain the core beliefs of Islam — Tawheed, the Angels, the Books, the Prophets, and the Day of Judgement — in your own words
- Apply correct Fiqh to daily worship: Taharah, Salah, Sawm, and everyday Halal and Haram choices
- Describe key events from the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the lessons they hold
- Practise Islamic Adab and daily duas as a natural part of everyday life
- Speak confidently about Islam at school, at work, and among non-Muslim friends

Yes. Most students start with little or no Islamic studies background. Your tutor begins with a short assessment, then builds the course around where your child — or you — is actually starting from, not a fixed syllabus point.
All Islamic Studies tutors are selected for both their Islamic knowledge and their experience teaching students online, and go through our academy's verification process before they're matched with a student.
Yes. Classes are booked around your week rather than a fixed timetable — including school terms, exam periods, and Ramadan.
There's no fixed minimum age. Younger children usually begin with Islamic Adab and simple stories of the Prophets, while Aqeedah and Fiqh in more depth tend to suit children from around age 7 upwards.
Yes. Lessons are taught in English, with Arabic and Islamic terms explained clearly as they come up, so no prior Arabic knowledge is needed to start.
Both. Many parents study alongside their children, and adults — including those returning to their deen or new to Islam — often take the course on their own, at a more advanced pace.
Progress is tracked in writing, the same way it is on our Quran courses, so you'll receive regular updates on what's been covered and where they're up to.
No. Because classes are live online, we teach students right across the UK — from major cities to smaller towns — as well as some families further afield. All you need is a stable internet connection.
There's no obligation. If it feels right, your tutor will help you set a regular weekly schedule. If it's not the right fit, that's completely fine too — just let us know.
